I've been coming to Marie's my entire life. The owner has been getting slayed recently. I am trying to understand why. She is doing her best to keep the food flowing and the business open. I personally watched a customer berate, verbally attack her, and threaten violence for absolutely no reason. The customer was completely out of line. The owner is passionate and gives 110% every day. I would have closed shop a long time ago. I will continue to support Marie's for as long as they remain open. Have you all stopped flying because TSA makes you take your shoes off? Grow up and have some decency and respect for a small business owner doing their best for the local community. Order a damn Domino's if you don't want to go out.

First time ordering from Marie's and I got the Marie's special which is a thin crust sausage, green pepper, onions and mushrooms pizza. It was cooked just perfect and tasted great. They do use a mozzarella Parmesan blend for the cheese which I like. The lady who took my order was very polite and when I picked up the order they were fast and polite. This pizza pickup right now is in the liquor store due to COVID, but was still a great experience. Give them a shot.

This review is strictly for Marie's pizza that I did a carry-out for. I recently picked up a 12" half cheese half pepperoni pizza from Marie's. It was my first time visiting the restaurant. Due to COVID, only carry-out orders were being accepted (this was before the dine-in area of Chicago restaurants were allowed to open). I placed my order through Yelp (powered by GrubHub). My food was ready for pick up on time. I received quick, good service. I knew of Marie's from before but never really had chance to go eat their or do a carry-out prior to this visit. I know Marie's tavern style pizza is popular among the locals and is considered an institution for it. Also, the fact that during normal operating times (pre-COVID), you could purchase alcoholic beverages at the liquor shop attached to the restaurant and then go dine-in. So beer and pizza would be a perfect dine-in option. I would have liked to do that but I guess it will have to wait a while. The pizza I had was super delicious and tasty. I liked everything about it. Its crust, sauce, cheese and the pepperoni, were all good and on money. I loved the crust and the sauce, especially. I am big on having a good crust and sauce on a pizza. For the real Chicago style pizza aka tavern style (crunchy thin crust w/ square slices), Marie's has to got be among the best. It's definitely worth checking out.
